Happy Comatose

The birthday clock
Ticking ever nearer
Joy shoots down my spine
And the anticipation is clearer.

Another year
My life with take
Another sunrise
Another cake

With friends and family
Near and close
A smile is stuck
In a happy comatose

Wisdom and knowledge
Love and learning
I accept these things
A desire burning

To grow and become stronger
A woman respected
I want to change the world
And be a woman affected
